Why we ask before we quote
A kennel is a simple object with a legal dimension attached to it. Belgian animal welfare rules prescribe minimum enclosure sizes for keeping dogs in establishments that require recognition, scaled to the size of the animal and the number housed. Build below that and the enclosure is unusable for a licensed breeder, a boarding business or a shelter, no matter how good the welding is. The buyer finds out at inspection, long after paying.
A fabricator working to a drawing has no particular reason to raise it. The customer specified the size, the customer is paying, and the dimension question is somebody else's compliance problem. We take the opposite view: the intended use is the first thing we ask, the internal dimensions go on the quotation in writing so that the operator and an inspector read the same figures, and an order stated to be for a licensed establishment but specified below the minimum is declined rather than quoted.
The same discipline applies to the structural side, in the other direction. Load-bearing steel components fall under a harmonised standard that requires certified factory production control, a declared execution class, qualified welding coordination and a declaration of performance before a CE mark may be applied. Non-structural items are not covered and do not need it. Plenty of workshops are vague about which of their products are which, and that vagueness is itself the problem — so we state the category item by item.
